August 31, 2010 at 4:45 pmThere’s no problem with your camera or software … those are interlacing lines (field separation).
I only stumbled upon your post since I’m primarily a Final Cut, Premiere and After Effects guy who only dabbles in Vegas occasionally. So, I can’t tell you exactly where to find the controls you need to check, but in general terms, you just make sure your editing software is interpreting the footage correctly (as either upper or lower field order). Then, depending on your desired delivery medium(s), you can “deinterlace” interlaced video in most any video software, whether that be your editing software or format conversion/compression software.
I’m sure others will chime in with Vegas-specific details, but I figured I’d let you know there’s nothing to worry about until then.
Cheers.

August 31, 2010 at 5:47 pmI guess the question is why do you want to get rid of them? As Dave pointed out they are simply interlacing which is needed if your final delivery format is for TV. If, however, you are delivering for the web, then make sure you final delivery format is deinterlaced.
If you give us more information about what you are trying to do we can be more specific with a solution.

August 31, 2010 at 6:30 pmhi!
thanks for the help so far.
my final goal is, that those interlaced lines are gone in the final video (which is for TV).
im trying to save it in the best quality as possible (1080) -

It seems that your confusion with my and John’s previous replies is lack of understand interlacing … when you say you want the interlace lines “gone”, what you really mean is that you don’t want to see them, which does not mean that they’re not there (when you watch TV, you’re watching interlaced video). As John said, interlacing is “needed if your final delivery format is for TV”. And, you said you want 1080, which the full correct name for is 1080i (the “i” stands for interlaced). So, all you should need to do is edit your video, export, put it on a DVD, play that on a TV and you won’t see the interlacing lines that are actually still there. If it doesn’t work out that way, the field order of the video somehow got screwed up and needs to be correctly interpreted to either “upper fields first” or “lower fields first” … I can’t know which because I don’t know which your camera generates (it’s not a matter of one is right and the other wrong).
I hope this helps.
