Wanted to know if anyone could tell me how to add a line to a doc in Adobe Indesign CS4.
What I mean is if I am design a cover sheet to be fax for someone and i write the word date and then want to put a dark line next to it to write one how do I do this??/ -

Use the tabs feature.
Type “date” and then press the tab key.
Now, goto the “Type>Tabs” menu
In the little box that appears, first click once above the number to set a tab position. Next, in the “Leader:” box type the character you wish to proceed your tab, in this case an underscore “_” and then press the tab key again. Now you can drag your tab position (the little arrow) along the ruler to set the length of your line.Tech-T Productions

Thank you for the help if I wanted to put a black line next to the word date how do I do that??? -
It is still text. Highlight the section you want with your text tool and change the color to the black swatch.
