Linear Editing with P2
Hello All and thanks in advance.
I work in a news type broadcast setting where we need to do stuff QUICK! We currently shoot stuff on mini-DV and do Linear tape-to-tape editing where we add in graphics all at once. We use a edit controller to scrub through the footage on the tape and it works well and is quicker than a non-linear workflow for our purposes. I want to start shooting on P2 cards for capacity and quality reasons but I do not want to go away from our linear workflow. I would like to be able to control a P2 card (through a P2 Player with RS-422 COntrol maybe?) I just want to know if this is at all possible to control a P2 player with a RS-422 control?

Look at the P2 MOBILE… it is a 5 card reader and edit controller, and portable. VERY handy device. It’ll do what you want.
