    Ok, here’s what I’d like to do…

    V2 news footage
    V1 footage of a television

I know how to corner pin V2 to V1 so that the news footage appears over the V1 tv screen… but… I also want to blur & match grain the V2 news footage to the same degree as V1.

Problem is, adding blur & match grain filters to V2 *above* corner pin applies those filters to BOTH V2 and V1 making the everything more blurry and grainy… but adding those two filters *below* corner pin scales those blur & grain effects down when corner pin scales V2 down. I need a way to add blur and grain to V2 without affecting V1 and without scaling the effects down either.

I want to say that I need to add corner pin to V2, and then some kind of matte so that the pinned footage is opaque and the background is transparent, so that the blur and grain don’t affect the transparent parts. Unfortunately I don’t know if that’s right or even how to do that, mattes melt my brain. Does any of this make sense? Am I even close? Is this clear as mud?

    Thanks for any help
