Limiting effects to a certain set of key frames
I’m new to After Effects. As a matter of fact, I’m new to the entire adobe software. I’ve bought a few books but none of them really tell me how to perform such a feat.
I want to make a runner (I have the footage), run a certain distance in the composition. And the camera is slowing down to try to match speeds but the runner then picks up the pace and runs off screen. So far I’m able to acomplish this with a little bit of tweaking to the pathing.
Second I want the runner to move along the z axis like he’s dodging things. At this point, the camera focus will go in and out as the caracter is making his run. How do I do this? If I apply a radial blur effect it will blur the entire composition. Is there a way to limit the effect to a certain middle set of key frames and have it transition back to normal?
Any help would be appreciated.
After effects newb in training.
