I would like to edit using keyboard more than tiresome mousing around… However, Premiere seems to be very mouse-centered.

Is there a way to actually select a clip without clicking it without a mouse?
And the second thing – how do I close the Trim window via keyboard?

I’ve searched Help and manual but it wasn’t very helpful. I wonder if such a simple thing is something Premiere cannot do.

I don’t think those features are accessible via a keyboard. Please file a feature request by visiting adobe.com

Alright, I posted a request. I suggest all of us who need more keyboard in PPro to fill in a request at http://www.adobe.com/support/feature.html

If you want to do a Lift edit or a Extract edit you can just set an In Point and an Out Point and use the shortcuts for Lift and Extract, there is no need to select the clip. What do you want to do with the clip/s?

Use Alt+F4 to close the Trim Window.

Premiere Pro 2.0 is my favorite NLE specially now that it links automatically with After Effects, but after using Avid Media Composer for a while in the facility I work in I realized Premiere could benefit from some more keyboard customization. Keyboard-oriented editing is easier on the hands and elbows and can be done pretty fast, like typing a document. I requested also the feature on the Adobe site. I requested also for a shortcut key to cycle thru the panels. It used to be CTRL+TAB in previous versions but it doesn’t work in 2.0.
