    hi all,

i am wondering if there is a way to limit the duration of a layer automatically to the time where the layer is visible in my scene?

we´ve got a huge scene with a lot of 3d layers – casting shadows and so on – so we´d like to improve the performance by simply cropping the layerduration automatically to the time we need them.

maybe there is already a tool for this – didnt find it – sorry for that.

    nice greetings
    chris

I think it would be tricky. You’d have to write a script that created a temporary toComp() expression to evaluate each of a layer’s four corners to see if any of them appear in the camera’s view. But that wouldn’t account any shadows of off-screen layers being cast on on-screen layers.
