    Hello,

I posted a few weeks back that we were building a studio.

It’s now built, and we are purchasing a core lighting setup, with mind to have the in house kit, and then rent as per project what we need.

I am a writer / director with a basic knowledge in lighting, and now being asked to create a list for the studio (hence why asking here first).

I would like to ask some advice on what a nice solid set of lighting would be.

    >> Details

We will be doing productions such creating dramatic sets, with beams coming through windows – atmosphere shots etc.

First set we are building is a 6x8x4m abandoned temple.

We will also be doing talk show set ups etc (which I appreciate is very different kind of lighting)

Our space is 15m x 15m with a 6m roof. We have rigging across the roof.

The kind of list we are going for is something like:

    6 x 6 lights
    10 x 2k lights
    6 x ‘1x1m’ reflector boards

    etc.

I understand you will need to ask a question or 2 to understand more. I appreciate any support on this.

And if you’re in the south of China and looking for a studio to work with along this size, please say hello!

    Thank you in advance.
