Lighting problem in E3D
Posted by Lal Nuntluanga on July 19, 2023 at 5:38 pmHi, can you plz tell me why lights such as parallel lights cannot be reflected on textures but can be reflected on models in Element 3D? I have Nvidia Geforce 1070 and i think it should be able to handle it .

July 20, 2023 at 5:08 pmYeah it should be able to indeed work with your graphics card. Able to tell me the rest of the computer specs you have so I can confirm if the specs meets the minimum requirements? Sometimes there could be glitches in the background happening that prevents you from applying the lighting effect. If it worked on your Elements 3D within After Effects, it should work out of it too. May want to restart your computer to see if it works better or reinstall the application. Good luck!
I also found a tutorial online that may be able to help you on this too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUP0kfoMqNY

July 22, 2023 at 9:25 amElement 3D (to the best of my knowledge) using a video game engine to display any models and lights. Reflections, lighting and shadows are all (to an extent) faked, so any textures in a model that you expect to behave in a certain way might not work the way you were expecting.
I’ve found the best approach is to start with one of the included materials, and then adapt these, rather than start with a default white.
