Lighting a scene at night?
I have been directed/shooting videos for about 3 years now. But, I am just now becoming more and more serious directing music videos for bands around the midwest. I am wanting to have a shoot at night in one of my upcoming music videos. I know lighting is key in every shoot and even more when shooting at night.
Anyways, I am wanting to know what is the called: a large screen that diffuses light – I got a link so you can better understand what I am talking about.
Is it called an Ultra Bounce? Since I am an on a really tight budget. I don’t think I would be purchasing. So, a DIY would be great if it could be possible. What is this material made out of? If there could be any feedback on this….that would be great. Thanks in advance, Adam

Adam – I’m unable to view your link from where I am, but I’m assuming you’re talking about a silk. It’s available in different stops for various degrees of light transmission. You can make one yourself out of rip-stop grid fabric, the type of fabric usually used on sails. I’m not sure what degree of transmission it has, but I think it’s somewhere around a stop.
