Lighten the lights, darken the darks
I have SD video shot in low light which appears okay on my preview screen and in .WMV files I render. However, when I project it on screen or cut a DVD, it’s too dark.
I am trying my best to lighten the scene, but then it gets very grainy. I have been searching this forum and trying a lot of things, but it all comes out really weird. Using techniques to minimize graininess works fine, but attempts to lighten at the same time counter balance this, and vice versa.
I am totally confused by the mask generator. I understand it in theory, but applying it creates bizarre, blotchy affects.
I would like to make the lights lighter, and the darks darker. I’ve tried using chroma keys as well, no luck. I have generated a mask using an event pan/crop which works for a frame, but would hate to rotoscope the whole sequence.
I instinctually feel I should use the mask generator applied to the parent track, then make the child track darker.
Any help?
