Light Wrap (with Key Correct Pro) Problem
Hi,
Just in case someone has an answer:
I recently bought Key Correct Pro mainly to quickly and easily add Light Wraps to my keyed footage.
The only problem is that if I resize the background (that it’s using to generate the light wrap) it won’t apply the resize eg. if the background is smaller than the keyed footage it will only create a light wrap in the dimensions of that original footage, even after I resize it.
I figured that maybe I should just resize the BG and put it in a Precomp, then use that Precomp as the source background… but somehow Key Correct Pro still ‘sees’ the BG as being small.
Anyone have a solution… that doesn’t involve rendering out new ‘resized’ versions of every background I want to use with a light wrap?

when you pre-comped the bg, did you choose to move all attributes to the new comp? your best shot is to have the scaling attribute applied to the bg within the pre-comp, rather than scaling the pre-comp within the main comp.
there may also be a setting within the effect that is set to automaticly scale the bg to fill the frame (many effect have a similar function if they encounter footage that is not the same size). if you can disable that parameter, then it should work.
those are the only two options i can think of…

Thanks for the ideas.
With the Precomp I did Move All Attributes into it, and I did scale the BG within the Precomp itself.
Also, the Light Wrap effect doesn’t scale the BG at all – it just basically sticks to whatever the original background size was.
As you can imagine, this isn’t very useful as (if the BG is originally smaller than the FG) your Light Wraps only cover a portion of the foreground footage.
I do have a workaround: which is to render out all my backgrounds at their new dimensions… but that just seems like a whole lot of extra work for a plug-in that I bought because it was a ‘one-click wonder’.
There must be something I’m missing here?

You know what?
You were right!
It was just Moving All Attributes into a Precomp.
For some reason, every time I Precomped I ‘thought’ I was doing this but I was Leaving All Attributes with the source layer.
I can’t explain my brain-lapse here – I did this test about three times and each time I ‘saw’ the Attributes as moved into the Precomp… but obviously they weren’t.
Must be going senile.

PS – I only discovered this by accident, when I noticed that the Scale of the Precomp was over 100%. It bugged me so I thought “I’ll just do ONE MORE test” and… real problem discovered: human error!
