I’m seeing a cool effect out lately, that I want to try to recreate, and would like some how-to advice… a good place to start, or a plugin that will make it easier.

The effect is a bright point of light leaving a slow-fading trail of light behind it… some recent places that I’ve seen this are, recent animated ABC logo (light with trails frenzies around the logo), the “Jane’s New York” opening sequence (NBC newsmagazine… if you’ve seen this sequence, you know what I mean)

Most recently I have seen it in the Verizon/LG Chocolate commercial… the red LEDs of the spinning phone leave red trails that slowly fade out behind it.

    Thanks for the advice.

I’ve seen a few tutorials on this. The COW has one that may be a good starting point:

You should also check out Dean’s site (www.theanvel.com). He posts a lot of example projects that you can dissect.

Thanks a lot for the response… I’ll check those links out and see how they look.

    Thanks.
