    Great tut, I agree. I thought you could just change that Black “BG” layer to white and you’d be OK, but that didn’t work for me. The only way I could get a white background for the comp “Nano Ad” was to disable the Adjustment Layer (turn off the eyeball). You can now color the Particle by opening that “Particle_50” comp, adding an adjustment layer at the top, then Render>Fill (choose your color). Now all those masked layers are the color you want for your particle. Now back in the main comp, add the effect Glow to the “Particles” layer, the one with Particular on it.

    Then Change the black “BG” layer to white (Ctrl Shift Y and choose white). Then it seems to me the smear is a bit too strong, so in the layer “Particles”I changed Particular>Particle>Opacity down from the tut’s 50% to 25%.

    You should be good to go.
