March 15, 2006 at 2:13 amParticle Iullsion could make a Glow, but in order to make those light rays FX try a Compositing program such as Premiere, Vegas, or Ulead Movie Studio… I personally make this FX in Sony Vegas, in the VFX Section… the FX is called Light Rays.
PD: If you combine your compositing program’s VFX with particle illusion’s FX you could create interesting creations (by placing an FX rendered in black background over the video on an extra layer, the in the “add” mode)

March 15, 2006 at 2:33 amThis effect was made with the trapcode plugin Shine. A very good plugin for after effect and combustion. I don’t hink you can do it in PI.

March 15, 2006 at 1:41 pmI agree that it’s not an effect that particleIllusion can do. You might be able to get a “rays of light” effect, but you could not make it move across the screen.

March 15, 2006 at 10:52 pmYeah – shine is definately the plugin to use for this sort of thing.
However if you have AE, you may want to try CC lightzoom also – not nearly as nice though.

March 16, 2006 at 1:04 amMirage has a volumetric effect that is very polished. Certainly not a product to buy just for that unless you also print your own money. Boris does it too. UJ

March 16, 2006 at 3:53 amI did this many years ago using Animation Shop which was a part of Paint Shop Pro V7. This is a built in preset.
I made a few varaints and then layered them.
As said by others, this could then be brought back into PI and tarted up a bit more to your taste.http://www.teliocide.com

March 16, 2006 at 12:32 pmWhat would bringing it into pIllusion do if you’ve already created the animated light effect in Animation Shop?
Alan.

March 16, 2006 at 2:18 pmProbably not anything to the light rays.
You could put a flash/pulse of light behind the letters in time with the brightest ray emmission, or run a fine line of sparkles around each letter as the stongest ray is emmited.http://www.teliocide.com
