    Hey guys,

I am trying to follow a tutorial to which the built in light in after effects is animated in 3d space. However in the tutorial the light when given to position key frames has a guide showing the path, and it looks like you can manipulate the path, mine however shows no path. What is wrong I have the toggle mask and shape path selected.

Dave is correct, if you change the Preference settings for Display you can set the number of keyframes visible on a motion path.

Two other things may be an issue:

    1) The type of light. Only point and spotlights have position that can be keyframed.

    2) You must have a minimum of 2 keyframes to make the motion path visible.

Be sure that in the View Options for your comp that Motion Paths is not unchecked.
