I’m somewhat new to Cinema 4d, and I have an animation where the key light should fade in from dark, however setting intensity or falloff of the light (area) seems to have no effect on the level of specular reflection on my objects. In other words as soon as the light’s intensity is anything above 0% suddenly all the specular highlights “pop” on, before the diffuse levels increase, as they should with the light intensity. Most of the materials in my scene are the custom shaders be they banji etc. Is this the cause, or the way cinema 4d just works?

    Thanks,
    Devin

No, it shouldn’t work like that. There must be something going on in the 3d shaders–like specular level is set waaaay high.
