    I’m a beginner to After Effects and am trying to achieve a glow “overlay” kind of effect similar to the blue light rays coming from the corners of this video:

    How would I go about creating a glowing light object over video footage like seen in the video? Also, what about some of the blueish, blurry accents to the corners of the video?

    for the blue tint- many ways to do it, one quick way is Photo Filter- Cooling Filter 80 or 82 (play with Density)

    Glow- good old AE glow- big radius, Color Channels based

    Rays in the corner- looks like Knoll Lens Flare- Arc Welder preset.

    One more thing- work in 32bit, it will give you a better look (once you got all the effects on switch between 8bit to 32bit and you’ll see what I mean)
