    Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to determine a licensing fee? This would be for a segment of an interview with a B-list celebrity (closer to C-List, but has an entry on Wikipedia). The person himself is not as important as what he says. The company mainly has a presence only online, not on TV and the average views of their videos is in the tens of thousands. The only comparison I have is when a major news outlet asked for the right to use parts of an interview of a B-list celebrity who died. That was 20 years ago, and they offered 1k. Any idea as to how much to charge? I don’t want to cause them any resentment. I looked at Getty and they charge $500 for just a photo of this person, never mind a video, but we know how they operate….

    Thanks

Is there any other footage of this person online as stock, and if so, what are THEY charging?

Thanks for the help. Other than the photos I mentioned, I could not find any video available for licensing. However, I believe that the company in question wants to use my footage of the celebrity to prove a point rather than for the celebrity himself, as that is not the topic of the project. However, I am sure it helps prove their message that a celebrity said it and not a random individual.
