April 27, 2014 at 7:37 pmSounds fun. Except for the cold part. As we are finally starting to bake in Atlanta it’s hard to believe it’s cold and snowy at the Grand Canyon.

April 30, 2014 at 3:38 amMike – just chiming in here to say that you totally saved my hide with this tip. 160GB library with about a billion compound clips and two weeks of work. I saw that journal file but didn’t think to trash it — everything came right back as described when I did.
Thanks!

April 30, 2014 at 1:25 pmHey Tony…
Glad it helped because I know exactly how you felt when it reopened correctly.
I had a months long project broken as well. Numerous compounds, dozens of green screens, countless graphics. I just sat there looking at the empty viewers jaw agape.
Happy to have helped out!

October 3, 2014 at 2:19 pmWhat an absolutely fantastic post!!! Every time I would try to close FCPX, it would say “canceling background tasks” close the window, but the app would show in the dock with an arrow under it still and the status was “application not responding”. I would have to force quit it but I would have the same problem next time. Also, some of the projects and media would not show the picture in the frame, just a solid frame. I followed your tip in the original post and it is now performing flawlessly. Thanks so much!!!
