I have seen so many tuts but can not seem to fix the fact that:

My Davinci resolve 11 (dongle version) LIBRARY only shows one folder and it is a Scratch volume.

I know this because it is Indicated by globe icon, (these are disks that you’ve added to the Media)

I do not see any available volumes (Indicated by disk icons, this is a list of all fixed, removable, and network volumes that are currently available to your workstation).

So I can not import clips. Basically I can not do anything.

    Please some advice???

Have you added a disk to your scratch disk list in preferences?

Thank you, Yes, I have but that creates more scratch disks, so with the
small blue icon. (I use windows 8)

It does work and I can load footage. How ever I dont imagine that this is correct as i have seen in tuts that the icon needs to be the folders/

    Hi Ali,

What you describe sounds normal on a Windows system. Volumes are added to the Library by adding them to the Scratch Disks in Preferences > Media Storage, and a volume that is a scratch disk will show the blue globe icon.

If you’ve seen screen shots where the Library has a disk icon next to a volume, this was likely on a Mac system where there is a setting in the Preferences > Media Storage for “Show all mounted volumes in the Library.” When that is checked on, mounted volumes that are not scratch disks, such as removable storage for example, will show up with a grey disk icon.

If you’re able to add media from the Library, it sounds like all is well.
