    Hey folks,

I have a 2013 Mac Pro trash can with an OWC 4 drive bay enclosure connected via thunderbolt.

A, seemingly, odd thing happened when I recently rebooted the computer… FCPX 10.2.3 was already open without being prompted and all my libraries were gone or, rather, seemed to be gone.

Doing File > Open Library – eventually, seemed to get them all back (as far as I can tell) but, it was somewhat disconcerting for a moment.

1 other thing that compounded the weirdness…

It’s version 10.2.3. As I recall, I had, up to this point, been working on an earlier version.

I can live with the possibility my computer decided to install the latest version of FCPX but,
is the ‘no libraries’ thing normal? It has never happened to me before.

    Thanks, RK

Libraries can open and close independently.

If in fact your system did some sort of autoupdate, which is entirely possible and user selectable, then fcpx would have started empty or with an ‘untitled’ library.

    Thank you, Jeremy!
    Perhaps that is it.
Guess all’s well that ends well.
Just hadn’t seen that behavior before.

You can also double click libraries from the Finder level to open them.

You can also option click fcpx in the dock, and open a single library, you can also hold option while fcpx is loading and choose which library to open.
