LH Question
I have a new G5, FCP 5, and Kona LH board. Want to be ready to edit DVC Pro HD. However, until then, I edit a lot of DV Cam stuff. Should I bypass the board altogether and do everything firewire or are there benefits to using the board?
If I can benefit by using the Kona, what setup would you suggest?

you spent the money for the Kona board – then use it ! You will love it.
Simply plug in one video cable from HD-SDI out of your AJ-HD1200A and plug the
RS422 cable between the Kona and the VTR, and away you go. You are doing HD editing. If you own professional DV Cam equipment, like a Sony DSR-1500, DSR-1600, DSR-45, DSR-1800, DSR-2000, you will use the same method. There are very good reasons to work this way, as you will see once you start doing it.Use the excellent equipment that you own.
