    Hey there

cutting in an anamorphic PAL DVCPRO 50 sequence in FCP 6.01 and i want my monitor to display my sequence letterboxed (as my monitor is 4:3 only). as i recall in my old decklink extreme prefs there was a checkbox to letterbox on output. does this feature exist with the HD extreme card with driver 6.6?

    thanks

    Hi,

The option you are speaking of is probably the down conversion to letterbox option and not what you need.

Final Cut Pro can letter box your output in real time if you nest your anamorphic sequence in a normal 4:3 sequence.

    thanks Kristian

i actually need to cut in an anamorphic sequence, but wanted to letterbox my 16:9 seq ‘on the fly’, via the decklink HD card, as the old sony monitor im using appears to be 4:3 only.

I thought the card had an option to letterbox output which would correct for the monitor im using, but it looks like that’s not the case.
