Let the buyer beware…
So Boris suport finally got back to me about my problem relinking Avid media files in AE after using transfer. The solution? A $250 plug-in from a third party vendor!
Now, nowhere on the Boris website does it say Boris Transfer transfers media – it only purports to transfer sequences. However, I assumed it would work similarly to Automatic Duck and handle the media conversion as well. The fact that this little “gotcha” isn’t mentioned by Boris seems a little disingenuous to me. Am I missing something? Can someone explain to me how this program is useful without the Calibrated Software MXF plug-in?
Thankfully I got this in a promotion with my BCC AVX upgrade. Unfortunately a better promotion came right after that…

Yeah, I’ve been advised to watch out for situations like this. And the fact that support probably won’t respond the first try.
