wow. So After Effects CS3 bombs Leopard until… December. That’s a huge bummer.

    Yeah, huge.

But I also find it a bit strange that Apple isn’t ready with updates for Studio. I mean Leopard was delayed from June thanks to the iPhone so you would think all Studio related updates would have been released last night as well.

AJA has no mention of Leopard whatsoever on its website. I find that a bit odd.

I don’t actually. Seeing that Apple hasn’t released any sort of update for Studio 2 I’m guessing that AJA’s update is tied to that. Just a guess on my part.

Just a bit of communication would be nice. They’re usually pretty good about that.

I installed Leopard on my g4 laptop and also Adobe CS3 Design Premium. I just checked out Acrobat 8 and it seemed to work just fine–that is it opened a pdf document. I also checked PS and it worek okay–at least it opened.

Photoshop is the only one that we know works because my editor played with it at the Apple Store and it’s not mentioned in Adobe’s “does not work work” list.

I wonder why Acrobat 8 seems to work. Maybe it is something peculiar to a G4 and it is different on an Intel machine.

BTW, the Leopard install went perfectly on one G4 laptop (install and archive) but on the other I had to do an “Install and erase” to get it to work. However, given all of the trouble others have mentioned about running FCP and After Effects with Leopard, I am not installing Leopard on my Mac Pro (8 core) until these issues are addressed. That said, I am dying to know if the new OS makes FCP and Compressor, Motion and Soundtrack Pro run faster and use more of the processing power.

It works, but how stable is it? That’s the key with any app. I’m sure After Effects, Premiere and all the others will launch and probably work for a bit, but stability is most likely the issue.
