This is a technical question so maybe cinematography is not the best forum but it is related.

My understanding is that the 7-pin 1B LEMO connector on motors is a ‘standard’ that most manufacturers follow. I am trying to make a third party device to control a motor for a particular setup but am trying to find more documentation on this. There is a helpful page on the RED website (https://docs.red.com/955-0044/3AxisOperationGuide/Content/C_ConnectorCablePinouts/LensControlMotorConnectors.htm) which details the pinouts but doesn’t explain what they actually do. Short of asking here pin by pin, is there any other documentation that I can read?

As I essentially need to just control the motor, I am guessing that a voltage between pin 1 & 2 is needed but is it really analog voltage or a digital protocol. Are the encoder pins that returning data from the motor?

    Many thanks!
