Lens Flare Text Puzzle
A couple years ago I created a spec spot for a client that didn’t pan out. Lo and behold a current client would like the spot but I lost the project file.
I’m trying to recreate it but can not figure out how I made this one effect:
I know its just the default AE Lens Flare but I can not recreate it interacting with the text. It seems like a combo of luma matte and add blending mode but I can’t get it to look right. Specifically the text being blurred and the lens flare shifting the red background to orange.
Any thoughts?

Did you have a light (Spot) linked with the position of the flare as well maybe?
Also, the flare could be applied on an Adjustment Layer on top of everything.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

I can’t really tell from the still, but if I were approaching this I’d create the background, text and flare separately and comp them together.
Background looks like a combination of gradient elements and possibly a 3D floor plane.
Text looks like it’s got a gradient as well, possibly a spot light illuminating it.
The flare looks like it’s just comp’d in on top of everything. Apply it to a black solid and set it to Screen or Add if you prefer the overblown look.
