I am running the latest version of Premier Pro. For the last month I have not been able to get the lens flare effect to work. I use them as wipes from time to time in projects. I add them adjustment layers and keyframe the movement starting with a position at the left of the screen at 0% brightness moving to the center and increasing in brightness. Then moving the position to the right of the screen and dropping the brightness back to zero. Everything is there and fine until I render it. As soon as it’s rendered the flare does not show up. It is still showing on the adjustment layer and I can see the values moving, but it is not visible on the program monitor.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix?

Best is to drop lens flare straight on the clip instead of an adjustment layer.

Fair point, but the reason I do it on an adjustment layer is because I need the flare to be over multiple layers. It is a chroma keyed subject with a background and a logo. While I know I could nest all of the layers and add the flare after the fact I’ve just been using adjustment layers. It’s always worked and now it doesn’t.
