I’d suggest a mattebox and 4×5 filters. I it is how I use them and with a multistage mattebox you can stack them or use with other filters at the same time. Tiffen is a good brand. Sneider. Also look into IR NDs.

Yes you want a Rig. It’s the only way to go.
