Novoflex is a very good adapter – well-made, but pricey. No one who has bought a Novoflex adapter from us has every complained.

But – Novoflex doesn’t make a Canon EOS to M43 Adapter. A company called Birger is working on one, but it will be pricey.

For Panasonic M43 we recommend you get Nikon or Zeiss ZF.2 glass, and the Nikon-to-M43 adapter, if you don’t want to use native Panasonic lenses.

Nikon makes better lenses than Canon anyways 🙂

What do you think about the Voigtlander adapter? What’s the mount called for the older manuel mount and also the newer mount used for Nikon?

The Kipon EF Lens adapter is considered to be the best Micro 4/3 manual adapter for Canon EF lenses right now:

While none of the manual adapters will enable the Canon AF or IS, but the Kipon will allow you to adjust exposure via it’s own iris.

…Though last week I read a post by Philip Johnston on his HD-Warrior site that his Kipon adapter is acting up after 3 months of use. ( it’s possible that it might just be his unit )

Later this Spring the Birger EF Lens adapter should be out. The Birger adapter enables both AF and IS if the Canon lens has it, along with remote wireless focus-pulling. It’s a big adapter and is expected to be priced starting around $700 US.

I agree with DV Dude that the Nikon adapter is the way to go. I bought the Voightlander model which works perfectly and is beautifully made, but it does not work with the newer Nikon G lenses which have no manual aperture control.

If you are willing to spend the extra bucks there are a few adatpers made by Novoflex, MTF Services and Adaptimax that will also work with Nikon G lenses.

If money is tight the best low cost adapter mounts that I’ve come across are the MetaBones ones that you can find on eBay. They are supposed to be very similar to the build quality of the Voightlander adatper.

I have the Fotodiox EOS to MFT adapter- works like a charm. The Birger ain’t out yet and will cost a fortune- though it will give you control of aperture supposedly.

I agree. The Fotodiox adapter is pretty good and compared to the others its CHEAP!However I did get the G version for aperture control on Nikon G lenses and its rough when turning so I don’t use it. The m4/3 to Nikon and EOS are good.

We have a Kipon w/manual iris. It’s a stop gap until the Birger comes out, but it does work.

I had the Kipon for a few weeks to try it out and decided to sell it on ebay. It doesn’t work very well with my Canon f4 lenses since it starts to vignette before lowering exposure. The Birger mount is going to be great! The only problem with it is that I’m going to want to buy more fast L glass!

It will vignette at the lowest settings, yes. You have to get creative with exposures. Come on, Birger!

So true. With no iris control I flip the ND filters, switch the iso, even go into the menu and lower it to 200 iso, search about in my gear bag for screw on ND filter and then change the lens. Hahaha. Its all good and fun.

NOAH, how are you adjusting your aperture using the Fotodiox adapter??
