    Hi everyone,

I’m getting started with my after effects work these days and was wondering about a way to speed up my workflow.

I find that frequently I’m dealing with multiple precomposed layers, each, sometimes, containing precomposed layers within them, and maybe further down getting into multiple nested levels of precomps. Frequently I’ll be forced to lengthen those layers: I present something to a client, and what began as a 30s spot turns into a 1m 30s spot because they realize they have more they want to include/present. When that happens, I find I have to spend an hour just expanding the necessary layers, going into all of the nested precomps and repeating, repeating, and so on.

So my question is, is there an expression or script I can apply to work around this issue? Something simpler? What am I missing here? How do people manage this on high budget pieces that are even more complex? Thanks very much for the input.
