  • Left Mouse button function disabling itself

This problem just started cropping up on a couple of newer Mac systems in the office the last week or two after the latest updates to OSX.

At first we thought it was the mice going bad, the left button function just stopped working until the computer was rebooted.

Swapped mice around and same problem. Right mouse function seems to work fine, and keyboard. The mouse navigates around the desktop no problems.

Is this a software bug? New Mac virus? We’re stumped! Anybody encounter this? Any workaround?

    Best,

    Rob

What kind of mouse is it? (Magic Mouse, Wired Mighty Mouse, Non-Apple Mouse, etc.)

Mighty mouse, Logitech mice, so far every mouse I’ve tried.

How does it manifest itself, and how often does it occur?

Opening a program, randomly, after five minutes, after an hour?

    I’m seeing the same problem.
Left mouse button stops working when the computer wakes up, both mighty mouse as well as trackpad on MBP. Right click works OK. Need to reboot to recover. It does not happen every time.
Problem started recently (2-3 months back?), but I’m not sure what exact upgrade caused it.

Does anybody have any further details what could be causing that and how to fix it?

    Thx,
    Robert
