    Good evening,

I have an LED wall that has a resolution of 3072X1408. It is currently being fed by 2 NovaPro wall processors from a Christie Spyder. It is using the DVI inputs on each, over 10BaseT for transport at 1536×1408 per side. Since this processor also has 3G SDI inputs, I wanted to run the copper to each, and eliminate the DVI extenders. However, I can’t get a signal to them. Will 3G recognize a format with over 1080 vertical lines? I understand that there are specific formats related to 3G SDI, but the data being passed seems well within the limits. Any ideas?

    Hi Jason,

SDI processing will almost certainly need a SMPTE standard signal and it’s very limited.
    That usually means 720 30/60P or 1080i / 1080P 30/60P only.

After that we get into the 6G/12G for 2k/4k standards.

    Thanks Vince.

What about running the 2 outputs at 1080p, and then scaling them with the NovaPros to the 1536×1408? Although I am sure the scaling power of the Spyder is much better than these units.

Content is currently created at 3072×1408, and then compressed to 1080 for transport in our system.
