October 25, 2013 at 10:04 pm[Kevin Camp] ” just drop the 960×360 comp into a 720p comp and then choose layer>transform>fit to comp and render that.”
No need to fit it to the comp. It doesn’t have to fill the 1280×720 frame, it just has to fit within it. Staying 1:1 may be advantageous to avoid softening from scaling, given the low vertical resolution of the display.
Basically, Paul, you are slicing and dicing your very wide comp to fit in a standard video size, and then the Pandora tech will un-dice and un-slice to put it back together as you originally intended. It’s like this:
“ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ” is too long, so we rearrange it:
“ABCDEF
GHIJKL
MNOPQR
STUVWX
YZ”And then just put it back together again on the other side.

i) Create the end video on a 5760×60 composition. Note that its center point is x=2880, y=30.
ii) Create a 960×360 composition.
iii) Drop the 5760×60 comp into the 960×360 composition six times and set the Position coordiates as follows:
1: 2880, 30 (far left on top)
2: 1920, 90
3: 960, 150
4: 0, 210
5: -960, 270
6: -1920, 330 (far right on bottom)iv) Export the 960×360 comp, possibly with Adobe Media Encoder depending on the codec.
This approach allows you to focus on the final output in the 5760×60 composition without having to worry about splitting and synchronizing each slice.
