Have recently replaced aging CRT screens with two Samsung 932w SYNCMASTER SCREENS but timelines are very jerky , bins grey out, sometimes and the timeline screen goes to white and then reappears. Card is/was an ASUS EN 9800GTX but for some strange reason (still to be discovered) the chipset overheated after a week of usage (although not overclocked and plenty cooling in RAIDMAX box). So I went back to the old 8600GT which manifests the same problem.
Premiere desktop display at 100% size shows combing effects although the video is fine on output screen. In other apps namely AE (Ram preview) or Encore playback – no problem.

Machine is a 2.66 mHz quadcore and has worked well right up to the monitor replacement. 4GB RAM – running XP sp 3 with the boot.ini set to address 3GB.

    Would really appreciate help.

Found the problem and I suppose it was obvious but I did not think of reinstalling monitor drivers as I had just completed a clean install of everything from OS down to apps. Production suite was the last installation so somewhere between the first installation of monitor drivers and the apps inbetween, the monitor drivers must have got corrupted. Sigh!
