Laying off Apple Prores 422
Hello,
I am working on a project where the footage was captured at Apple Prores 422 LT (23.98 FPS). We are doing a clip reel cutdown of a movie and the sequence compression is also set to Apple Prores. We captured off of a tape that was HDCAM, and we need to lay back to the same type of HDCAM.
If I want to lay back the sequence from Final Cut, what is the best workflow to make sure the quality that is being laid off to the tape is the highest resolution possible? Or am I good with Apple Prores 422?
I did a test where I took my sequence, media managed an offline cut, and attempted to batch capture at Uncompressed 10 bit but for the 30 minute cutdown it told me it was going to take up almost 200 GB of space.
Would laying off from my Apple Prores 422 sequence be just as good?
FYI we are laying off via a Kona Control panel.

ProRes 422 should be fine for this. Not sure about (LT) but you could do a batch recapture at regular RoRes 422 and all should be good. Anything over that is overkill for straight HDCAM unless you are working in HDCAM-SR then you could use the ProRes HQ 444
