  • Layers showing before their in point happen when nested in other comps

I have a nested comp with 2 text layers that are not supposed to appear until later, however when I look at the outer comp in which the nested comp is just another layer the objects are appearing several frames before the needle even hits in the first frame of the nested layers, which technically should be impossible.

All the frame rates are the same and I have neither stretched nor time remapped anything at all.

I already restarted, repaired permissions, etc to no avail.

Please help, this is incredibly puzzling.

    Try emptying Ae’s cache:

I tried that several times, but didn’t work.
Eventually I found a post in an Adobe forum with a somewhat similar issue, it turns out that if the precomp is servicing more than one comp Ae gets confused. I deleted it from another composition where it was also appearing and the problem went away.

    Best,
    D.
