layered .psd imports as a giant blob instead of proper text/graphics
Hi guys,
I have a .psd file i’m trying to bring into photoshop that has layers of text and some graphics. I want to keep those layers, and the transparent background – that’s the goal and why importing photoshop files was working well.
I did this twice before and had no problems- now, on my most recent attempt with a new text/graphics layered file, the text is coming in as a large rectangle as opposed to text. Same for the graphic underneath it.
The photoshop file still opens correctly in photoshop, just not Final Cut Pro
What’s happening and how can I fix it?

Was it created on Photoshop on a Windows machine?
If so, you need to save it to a new PSD file in Photoshop on a Mac before importing. And, if properly imported, it should import as a separate sequence with layers.

Hi David, thanks. It was created on a mac, same computer with Final Cut. This was photoshop elements 4.0.1. I’ve gotten it to import correctly as a separate sequence with layers before, but this time its not reading right. Can you think of any other possible problems?
I’ve also tried copying the layers into a new file, saving as different names, restarting the computer and the applications. I’m stumped.
