Layered psd files import as flat? Asked and answered.
I am using FCP 7.0 and when I import a Photoshop file with Layers, it appears as a flat image, not a sequence.
Oh! I just figured it out. Turns out if only one layer has its visibility set, the file comes in as a flat image. If more than is visible, then its imported as a sequence. Now I know. (just thought I’d share in case anyone else has a problem)

If is a Photoshop file coming from a PC, you need to open and “save” with Photoshop in your Mac before import.
