    Hi there,
I’m creating a 3d map of Britian in Cinema 4d V10 and require to have multiple passes of the material textures for post colour grading in After effects.
The map has place names, roads, rivers etc layered up on a relief object. Each material has an alpha to allow the layered textures to show through. So basically I have a land material at the bottom, then layered on top of that is a material containing just the roads, then a material with place names…etc etc. This works very well for what I need. One relief object with 5 or so materials.
I am compitent with using object buffer to render multipasses on objects, but I need to render out seperate passes of each material. As i will need to have full control over the colour of the roads, rivers and place names etc in After effects.
Anyone out there know of a way to render out passes of layered materials/textures?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Dave

I don’t think there’s a direct way of doing what you’re trying to do. Best as I can tell you would have to render multiple passes of the relief object — one for each alpha. 🙁

Nevermind hey, thanks for your respone. The client likes to change his mind alot so was hoping to only have to do one pass out of Cinema 4d.
    Cheers,
    Dave

[Dave ‘The Brave’ Wiffola] “The client likes to change his mind alot”

Isn’t “client” and “likes to change his mind a lot” a bit redundant? 🙂
