layer vortex effect warp
I want to have a layer warped, or distorted so it looks like it is pulled into a vortex. So the layer is kind of sucked back into a hole.
I realize this would be much better achieved in a 3D app, but wondering of there is a recipe in AE.
any ideas how to achieve?

How about Scale and Liquify/Twirl…
Or, Polar Coor, rect to Polar and scale, twirl?
