    hi there,

maybe i’m doing something wrong in a very simple way – this is my problem:
my camera flies over a text layer which is on auto-orient. but when the camera goes under over a certain level of Y the text starts spinning around it’s Z-axis.

    is this a common problem?

is there a way to orient the text towards the camery on its Z-axis while X and Y allways stay parallel to the edges of the camera window even when my camera turns around its Z axis?

    hi,

just after i posted the previous one i kind of discovered the solution for the problem: i orienteted a null to my camera and linked my text layer to the null’s orientation data via the code posted here by Dan Ebberts:

thanks Dan! that solved a problem i was faced with since weeks!

It now works like a swiss made – except the fact that the Z of the text layer doesn’t point directy to the cam but a bit right or left (parallel to the orientation of the null). might there be even a diferent way to overcome this?
