I am animating two layers in a composition, Layer 1 is in the foreground and Layer 2 is in the background. As Layer 2 moves past Layer 1, it jumps in front of Layer 1 and then several frames later it jumps back. Is this a glitch in my software or is there a way I can fix it?

There maybe a mask appearing at a certain point in layer 1. Check out your alpha channel for layer 1. It could very well be a software / hardware rendering issue. Try taking OpenGL off. It’s a little button on the comp window. Hope that helps!

You might get this problem if the two layers are 3D and they share the same Z-position. If so, try moving the background layer back 1 pixel in the Z direction.

Thanks for the help. I changed the z-position of one of the layers and now it works.
