    Hi guys,

We’ve got a prospective job for a laser violinist. Looks like everything’s agreed to go ahead, but she’s just warned us that the lasers she uses as part of her set could possibly damage the sensor. These are lasers she’s providing herself, so not imagining them to be nightclub-level strength, but who knows. Here’s a similar artist’s video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZ9F6QGjpjU

We shoot using a Metabones EF mount, and will probably use a 24-105L or similar for the majority of the performance.

I’ve seen lots of reports online of RED’s biting the dust from laser damage, as well as C300s, Mk IIs etc. but no reports of FS cameras having issues. Am I being too precious, or should we be ok? Obviously the gear is all fully insured should the worst happen. I also accept that it’s our decision, so won’t come here baying for blood if something goes wrong!

Any help or experience would be much appreciated 🙂

    Alex
