Need to send broadcast piece to another party for information verification on the piece. What is the best compression to use and what method is recommended for sending the file over the internet? I have you send it, but I am sure even after its compressed it would be larger than 2gb which is the max for most FTP.

are you sending it to them for further editing/broadcast or just to approve it?

I do “epprovals” with a quicktime file at 320x240x30fps.
Most of these are :30 or :15 TV spots so they are usually under 5mb and emailable.

Way better than the old days of vhs approvals heh heh.

How long is the video, if it is to long, by the time you get the file small enough the video will look horrible. Depending on the length of the file it may be easier and faster to put it to DVD and mail it. You have to factor in encoding time, the time it takes to upload the video, and the time it takes to download the video on the other end. If the video is a long one, then to keep the quality decent the file size will he vary big, thus making your upload time and the clients download time long. Like I said it may be better to mail a DVD.
