  • Large Project will not Render – what’s going on?!

    Hi and Help!

I’m trying to render a large project on my computer, but everytime it starts the render, Sony Vegas closes with a message saying it has encountered a problem.

    My computer is running Vista.

    RAM: 6.00 GB
    Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @2.60GHz 2.60 GHz

I’m using Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition. It was purchased as an upgrade from the hard copy I purchased of an older version (6.0 I believe).

I hope someone knows what the issue is or could be and can give me a few suggestions on how to fix it. Thanks!

Have you experimented with various output settings for the render? Have you checked for updates to Vegas?

    Hey Dave,
I’ve tried various outputs – at least, I believe I have. When you say that, do you mean .avi, .wav., and/or NSTAC or HD and that sort of thing?
Also, how do I check Vegas for updates? I have not done that and that would probably help a lot anyway, even if it didn’t solve my immediate problem.
    Thanks!

Hi: I no longer use Movie Studio – I now use Vegas Pro – but there may be a link similar to HELP > SONY ON THE WEB > LATEST UPDATES. If not, take a look here: https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/updates

Are you trying to render an HD project? You could try to render in a lower resolution just to check that your project has not somehow become corrupt.
