I searched but found no answers to my question.

Is it possible to use the VO Tool on a Laptop while sourcing HDV camera audio via FW800.

Next week I travel to do a post VO session and thinking of using a COS11-D mic plugged into my HDV Camera with it connected to my Laptop via a FW800 cable. Is this possible?

I’m sitting here testing the camera FW connection in my laptop and can’t get it to work. If you’ve figured this out please give me the settings.

    Hi Michael,
Probably you will need to select the Mic source in the System Preferences (Audio).

Thanks for the response Rafael, I don’t “System Pref Audio” where I select mic. I’m asking if using the audio from a HDV camera audio feed via FW is possible. So far I can not get the VO tool to hear it.

    Michael,
Open the “System Preferences” (Applications), and look in Sound.

I’m somewhat familiar with FCP and not aware of “System Preference Audio” in FCP or where to select Mic or Mic from a FW Camera. Please be more specific. Do you mean “user pref” or “Audio Pref”, I don’t find mic settings there?

    Please read again.
The System Preferences is an application that is in your applications folder.
