Laptop to RAID? How can it or can it be done?
Hi All,
Were looking into a large RAID/SAN solution for our FCPs and other editing systems.
Sometimes some editors work from their laptop, is there a card or connector that would allow a Labtop to connect with a Fiber RAID?Thanks,

I think you’d need one of those Magma expansion chassis.

I would call ProMax, http://www.promax.com for their phone number, and ask them. They have probably sold more FCP systems than anyone and would be most likely be able to help you find out if there is a solution.
I know that a solution exists to RAID a Firewire 800 array as I’ve done this with a LaCie card and it works very well with two FW 800 drives striped together.
