  • Lag when adjusting scale and position on still images

    Hello-
I’m creating a rough animation (storyboard animatic), using the latest version of Premiere CC 2017.1.2

The animatic is around 11 minutes and 550 PNG panels at 1920 x 1080.

I am using a decently spec’d MAC PRO CYLINDER and OSX.

When I adjust the POSITION or SCALE of an image there is a significant lag on the preview image. As I recall the last time I used Premiere for this sort of thing there was no lag.

It makes it quite difficult to create the animatic because many panels need to be re-sized or panned, and the size change is not 1:1, so you can’t really eyeball things, or you have to wait for the preview to catch up.
    ‘Thanks
    MC

Does anyone know what could cause

Are your png source files 1920×1080?

What size is your sequence and what are your sequence settings?

Try changing the playback quality from full to half to see if that makes a difference.

Sounds odd for a mac pro to struggle with that.
